Activities

Since I heard the saying, “All study and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” I honestly have been a bit scared to study all day. So, participating in extra-curricular activities in my leisure time was a must, and to my surprise found out that I was pretty good at them.

Society of Automotive Engineering (SAEINDIA)-VJIT Club

How it all Started?
  • SAEINDIA-VJIT Student Collegiate club was started  in the month of April 2019 with a team of 10.

  • Then we formed into a team of  17 members for the academic year 2019-2020.

  • The club activities are monitored by Office bearers .

  • SAE-VJIT had strong start in the formation of its first year by achieving the Appreciation in all categories of events.

  • Worked as Treasurer and Membership Manager for This Club.

  • Every Academic year Student Convention Events are Organized to Motivate and to Engage the Students into the Practical World.

  • This Club had Motivated me and my fellow students to do Research, So we have undertaken some Innovative Projects which include

  1. Weed Removal Machine for Agricultural Purpose.

  2. Electric Bike Design (Efficycle), etc.

SAE SUPRA, short for the Society of Automotive Engineers SUPRA, is an intercollegiate design competition that challenges student teams to design, build, and race SUPRA vehicles. The competition is organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and attracts engineering students from universities around the world.

  • Responsibilities included understanding and modelling the factors that influence chassis behaviour and their impact on vehicle performance as well as designing, modelling, testing, and manufacturing the chassis, ergonomics, and occupant safety systems in accordance with SAE regulations.

  • Performed Structural analysis of Vehicle chassis to validate its structural rigidity, driver safety and optimal force distribution and Modal analysis was performed to avoid resonance between chassis and other external excitations like engine vibrations.

  • Topology Optimization is performed and that data was then used to reduce on an average 32% weight of the components while maintaining structural rigidity.

  • Used PTC Creo, SolidWorks CAD software’s to craft intricate 3D models and engineering drawings, meticulously applying design for manufacturability and assembly principles, resulting in a remarkable 75% reduction in assembly time.

  • Contributed to the fabrication and assembly of vehicle and components, gaining hands-on experience in TIG welding, machining, and assembly techniques. Developed specialized jigs and fixtures for testing mechanical components of Vehicle.

  • Continuously worked to improve vehicle drivability and performance by setting and achieving chassis performance targets based on desired stiffness, steering response, vehicle dynamics sensitivity, ergonomics, mass reduction, and manufacturing processes.
